Mission & Vision

Founded in the summertime of 2010, the Socorro Regional Commercial Kitchen (formerly called the Socorro Community Kitchen) seeks to serve the community by providing a commercial food preparation space to Middle Rio Grande Area of New Mexico - Socorro and its surrounding counties. We encourage learning and creativity of the individual!

The kitchen has many potentials for use such as commercial food preparation, community classes, learning and education opportunities for schools, preparation for farmer's market sales, a space to prepare large dinners and other hosted events. The limit is your imagination. Come and create with us!

Darla Broughton, Kitchen Manager (and owner of Desert Badger Baking Company, LLC) in Socorro says:

“The Socorro Regional Commercial Kitchen has been a valuable asset to me in so many ways. As the Kitchen Manager it has provided me with a long-term job that I enjoy, opportunities to meet and collaborate with people in my community, experiences to learn about local food production, and the tools and skills I needed to become the owner of my own baking business. In March 2022, I started Desert Badger Baking Company and within less than a month I was able to bake nearly 1,000 cookies and sell them at the Southwest Chocolate & Coffee Festival in Albuquerque. This would not have been possible for me without the Socorro Kitchen. I am immeasurably grateful to the founders, managers, volunteers, and financers who came before me, and I deeply appreciate the clients who make the continuation of the Kitchen possible and purposeful.”

Take the first right on onto Center St.

The Kitchen will be on your left immediately after the police station parking lot.

The front entrance is the blue double doors on the Southeast corner of the Finley Gym building!
